Dental Health of San Francisco Reviews
Overall Dental Practice Rating ★★★★★ 5 / 5 based upon 9 reviews.
★★★★★ My name is Janet Ding.
I have been under the care of Dr. Charlene Chen in Sunset District location since 2014. Many thanks to my husband, Kevin, who helped seek her out through
advertisement.

During that time my teeth were in very bad shape: I was in dire need for a good dentist. I had periodontal disease and needed a lot of orthodontic work as well as a few implants. It took the next four years for constant visits and treatments to doctor up these dental problems.
As I was trying to recover from the dental works and starting to reap the benefits of Dr. Chen’s labor, I received a devastating piece of news in April 20 20-
I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer!!!

I was told by physicians that I would lose most likely all my teeth because of needed cancer treatments and chemotherapy. This was highly alarming. I was very anxious and distressed naturally..

But I was very fortunate because Dr. Chen is so experienced and skilled in her work that through her constant hard work and attentive care with appropriate treatments, as of this day my teeth for the most part are still intact and standing strong thereby serving me very well.
So for the past few years, since the bad news I’ve been blessed with a set of functional teeth contrary to most people’s believe ! Many thanks to Dr. chen‘s expertise through her work and appropriate treatments, despite constant use of high-dosage drugs and chemotherapy.
I’m feeling good not only that I have my teeth working properly but aesthetically it makes me feel like a new person.
More importantly, they are strong, and
still serving their purposes, for which I’m grateful particularly under the circumstances!

In summary, I regard Dr. Charlene Chan as my savior in the dental department!
I am deeply touched and grateful for her attentive services, caring, expertise and kindness displayed all these years!

I am more fortunate to have met Dr. Charlene Chen. She is the best.!
I want to thank her profusely for her dedicated, tireless hard work, and procedures that have given me a set of good teeth, which is almost like a miracle in my case.
I highly recommend and applaud her dedicated services and expertise to anyone who needs help to feel good and confident again!
I sincerely wish her continuous success in her profession and mission to do good and help other people in need .

God bless Dr. Charlene Chen, her friendly staff and families!

Gratefully,
Janet H. Ding

★★★★★ My favorite Dentist! Just finished several months of aligners to get my teeth looking like they did after braces years ago. Clear aligners are the way to go, and Dr. Chen always looks out for my teeth to make sure they’re well taken care of and maintained for the long haul. My wife and I have gone to Dental Health for years and would not go anywhere else. 5 out of 5 stars! San Francisco

Dental Health of San Francisco - I Never Thought I'd Rave About Dentists! - December 10, 2012

I was a forensic nurse for San Francisco for 21 years. I gained a great deal from that experience, including one of my best friends. Elaine Martin worked with me at both the San Francisco Rape Treatment Center and at CASARC, Elaine was a good deal younger than me but she was like a sister. In fact, we often told people we were sisters. They would look at us strangely (she is African American and I'm Caucasian ). On Mother's Day, a couple of years ago, I was with her entire family at brunch at the Burlingame Hyatt and we had such fun introducing everyone to the waiter as 'my family'.

I was telling Elaine that I was long overdue for a dental visit. My entire life, I have HATED going to the dentist. She looked stunned. 'You have to go to Dr. Quach! You are going to love him. He and his wife, Dr. Chen are wonderful!' I looked incredulous. No way I was ever going to love a dentist. For years, I'd been to the dental office recommended by our union where it was assembly line dental practice. You were there for hours. A dentist went from patient to patient, did a little work, then moved down the line. It was agonizing. I was long overdue for an appointment.

Finally, after a year of procrastination, I finally made an appointment at Dental Health of San Francisco. It seemed appropriate. Almost all my health care providers were Chinese! When I was warmly greeted by Dr. Quach, I scowled and told him, 'I hate dentists.' He just smiled and insisted he would change that feeling. Everyone in the office was so nice ( where they imbibing some sort of happy gas? ). I met his lovely wife, Dr. Chen and all the staff and was in and out of there so quickly. Dr. Quach, himself, did my tooth cleaning! I was so impressed by it all, I even went home and wrote a Yelp review ( his first ). The next time I went in, he gave me a discount because a client had come in because of the Yelp review!

I think it's about ten years now that I've been seeing him and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My son, Jeremy, is a patient as well. Last time, I was home from India, Dr. Quach asked me if I would do a video testimonial which I was happy to do. OK, OK, Elaine, I know you're smirking and saying, 'I told you so.'

Dr. Quach and Dr. Chen were raised in San Francisco and attended dental school at the University of the Pacific. They are members of several professional organizations and their office is open evenings and weekends as well as during the day to accommodate busy schedules. The waiting room is small and bustling but people are seen quickly and there is a family feel about the place. I wrote all the names down but now I've forgotten who is who! I should have written this the same day as my appointment!

Thanks to all of you at Dental Health of San Francisco for giving me something to smile about!!

★★★★★ I got my wisdom teeth removed and it was the most efficient and quick painless procedure I could have had. Dr Quach was a magician! I did not get put under, and walked away feeling fine with ibuprofen. The procedure only took 30 min. It made sense I paid what I did, which is higher than I expected, but the skill lever was supreme.

★★★★★ My wife and I met Dr. Chen and Dr. Quach at the end of 1999 while looking for assistance with bridge work she previously had done in Hawaii. It seemed that the bridge was breaking at least once a year. However, after their work was completed the bridge has been maintenance free... for 7 years! Since our first meeting I felt so comfortable and satisfied with their care that I continue semi-annual visits even though we moved to Orange County, CA in March of 2004. Last May, during a routine check-up, Dr. Quach & Dr. Chen pointed out a potential problem with one of my upper molars. About ten years ago our former dentist in Hawaii recommended, and performed, the removal of the lower molar. Now even I could see in the x-ray that, due to gravity, the upper tooth was gradually 'falling'. They pointed out that recent advances in implant technology would enable the prevention of future problems.

Once again their care amazed me. I required one 15 minute (or so) appointment to take a cast of my mouth. Then the 2nd appointment for placement of the stem lasted less than 40 minutes. That time included administrating anesthesia, drilling, AND placement of the stem!

Even more amazing was the minimal amount of discomfort. Afterward, I felt great and only a small part of my mouth was numb. I've experienced fillings that required larger areas of anesthesia and much longer recovery time!

While I hope my future dental care doesn't necessitate implants, I am once again sincerely thankful for having found Dr. Chen and Dr. Quach seven years ago.
